Fresh off the grill

Overview

An over-the-air update: no download needed, it arrives the next time you open the app.

Key Features

• Recipes ↔ braais. Recipes now show the braais people made from them, and a "Braai this" button starts a post with the recipe's hashtag. Posts show "Get the recipe" when they use a recipe hashtag, or suggest recipes for what's on the grid.
• Recipe badges. Recipe Rookie, Recipe Regular and Recipe Master for braaiing League recipes.
• Braai of the Month tie-break. From 1 November 2026, if two braais are level on flames, the one with the better vibe wins. "How ties work" on the leaderboard explains it.
• Report a bug and Contact us. Both now open an email straight to our support team, with your app details filled in.
• Braai League by email. A Friday round-up of your week (flames, tags waiting, comments to reply to, where you stand for Braai of the Month), plus a heads-up when someone tags you. Every link opens the right screen in the app. Unsubscribe in one tap.

Improvements and Performance

• Smarter photo reading: potjies are recognised with the lid on, and indoor afternoon braais are no longer mistaken for night braais.
• Video stories play to the end before moving on; story progress bars are visible in dark mode.
• Long-pressing no longer selects text around the app.
• Cleaner, more consistent design everywhere: new icons, loading placeholders instead of "Loading…", friendlier empty screens, smoother sheets and dialogs, better keyboard and screen-reader support.
• Photo analysis retries automatically if it's briefly unavailable, so your vibe score always appears.

Key Features

• Vibe meter 2.0. Your braai's vibe now reads every photo (fire, food, crew) plus the community's flames and comments, with tiers from Smouldering to Legendary and a tappable breakdown.
• Smart badges. Badges unlock from what's in your photos, not just hashtags, including team badges you can claim.
• New leaderboard. A leader hero, a "your braai" card showing where you stand, and the Hall of Flame for past winners.
• Better AI captions. The caption writer looks at your photo first, then writes.
• Getting started. A checklist for new braaiers, and follow notifications when people you follow post.
